In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF) Devices and Consumables Sector to Experience Significant Growth
The rising prevalence of delayed pregnancy, growing
awareness about in-vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment, and declining fertility
rates are positively influencing the IVF devices and consumables sector. The
World bank revealed that the fertility rate, from 4.7 in 1970, came down to 2.4
in 2015.
A major cause behind infertility is smoking, which reduces the chances
of pregnancy by 50.0 percent. As per an Oxford Press journal, by 2025 about 7.7
million women will be diagnosed with infertility.
The IVF devices and consumables sector is witnessing growth
due to the improving success rate of IVF procedures, which is a result of the
improvements in technology. Advanced technologies help in monitoring embryos
without having to remove them from incubators to select the best one for
implantation, as for a single IVF procedure, many embryos are cultured. Another
technique, pre-implantation diagnosis is used for determining genetic
abnormalities that may manifest after birth.
